Ulcers and non- healing wounds in the legs are often due to venous disease.

However in some patients other condition such as arterial disease, diabetes or rheumatoid arthritis also cause impaired healing of leg wounds and ulcers.

It is absolutely critical that a proper diagnostic work-up is performed to determine the cause of the ulcer.

Not infrequently the cause in multifactorial. Mr J Rophael will recommend the most appropriate cause of treatment to expedite ulcer healing.

It is paramount after wound healing that precautions are taken to prevent recurrence. Mr. J Rophael in conjunction with your GP / nurses will formulate an appropriate plan for you.
